The Fisheries Development Board is an autonomous body, working under Ministry of National Food Security and Research, Government of Pakistan, committed to promoting sustainable fisheries and aquaculture practices.

FDB’s mission “is to enhance National collective action in Fisheries and Aquaculture development, extension, training and education to promote economic growth, fight poverty and eradicate hunger and enhance sustainable use of natural resources in Pakistan.

FDB is being financed by Government of Pakistan for its core operation while funds for development work have been provided by PSDP of Government of Pakistan and other donor agencies on project-to-project basis.

FDB has its head office in Islamabad and a regional office in Karachi. FDB also has its field sites at Dhurabi Dam, Pindadan Khan, Daam, Lasbella.
